New Material from BOH, Thee Oh See's and A free festival

Thee Oh Sees is a band I've heard before and liked but I'm not sure I'm sold on the album as a whole, the vocals are grating at times, but I like the overall bluesy south vibe. Listen to the whole album for free compliments of StereoGum

'Chilled Out'' Covers

Found this new gent compliments of Some Kind of Awesome, my friend Tony called these covers depressing, I think they are chill, and perfect for fall, definitely a different take on M83's Midnight City, and always a fan of Frightened Rabbit
Download them for free at the link below

Band of Horses stepped up their game on this new album, it's still folk but instead of melancholy love unrequited we get some up tempo feel good beats mixed in with the standard BOH we love

check it out http://www.somekindofawesome.com/journal/2012/9/11/listen-band-of-horses-mirage-rock-full-album-stream.html

Weekend Plans? Check out Cultivate Chicago the free festival in LP sponsored by Chipotle. Complete with performances by Allen Stone & G.Love & Special Sauce, and demos by Top Chefs Richard Blais, and Sara, should be fun. I'll report back on that later

Another new playlist

This is one of my favorite playlists I made for my friend Laura. She needed some inspiration and this playlist is an anthem or soundtrack for my approach to dating It's mostly edgy ''If you don't like then take a walk'' kind of attitude  with a bit of a vunerable side. I consider myself a Unicorn of sorts, I'm a girl, who likes watching football, and rocker style converse and skinny jeans, but I'm still a lady:)

I'm a F*in Unicorn

RAC/ Indieshuffle.com & a new playlist of my own!

Whoa it's been a month? Where have I been?  Not to worry, this post should make up for lost time! What do I have for you? Only on the most amazing music site/concept I've come across in the past year!

Indieshuffle.com ---this is where it's at my friends!!

There are still some kinks because it's new but this site has some of the best remixes and currently hot songs you may never heard of. There are also links to free downloads of the songs you hear.

Started by this guy Jason Grishkoff from South Africa in 2009, just wanting to share music with friends because he was passionate about it he researches all indie bands and posts some really original stuff, sound familar?? he may even make this blog obsolete:)

Right now I've bookmarked several things feel free to also look them up for:

Blood Diamond's remix of Ellie Goulding's new track Anything Can Happen (the original is standard E.G. but it's very one dimensional and not up to par, so this takes it to the next level that allows it to reach ''hit'' status

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3J8HkMdzMh8

Any remix done by RAC is always fresh and really improves upon the original
Here's one from Hockey. (a band I've never heard of previous to today)
http://www.indieshuffle.com/hockey-too-fake-rac-remix/

People want to dance damnit! and that's waht RAC understands, but their approach is always to maintain the what's great and ''rock'' based theme of the song.. Hockey on it's own has a Strokes/Vaccines complaint/strain heartbroken rockstar type of vibe ''I'm just too fake for the world, I got too much soul for you'' How do I relate to this? I just do!:)

Also this is a favorite remix done by RAC of Tokyo Police Club (Courtesy of Spotify)

Tokyo Police Club – Be Good (RAC Remix)  great song, kind of meloncholy on it's own but the remix brings an 80's vibe with the handclap + keyboards but not in a cheesy way. Again makes it more approachable and danceworthy

I think we can all agree that all the of singles released on Foster's the People album Torches have been played out and desperately want to hear something new from them!
RAC's remix of Houdini makes it brand spanking new to your ears!!(found originally on indieshuffle.com)

Another gem I found from indieshuffle.com Is a band called How To Dress Well, check out this unreleased track (which is why the link is from YouTube)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYMk-wv0kJ8

It's got a old school early 90's R&B/Color Me Bad Vibe (oh yes, I went there) because on a Saturday Morning don't you just like to go back to your awkward adolescence?? look at old pictures and listen to all the embarrassing cd's you own back then? if you want to add a little cheese factor to your life and have an excuse to act silly  put this song on!

Impressed yet? Yeah me too! Thanks Indieshuffle.com! Now go like the page and explore!

Glad to be back!

Also, a new playlist in progress! Let me know what you think.. the theme is Youth is Wasted on the Young, thoughts!
